 .the synopsis.

Always being right can be a burden, especially when you’re a freshman in high school. Xoe has always juggled a lot: maintaining her social status, friendships, making her family proud, and keeping her grades skyrocketing straight to becoming valedictorian, and when she realizes she’s the last person to hear about an app that will do her homework assignments, she can’t just sit idly by as her classmates get away with cheating the system. Not a problem, she’ll just tell on the students using the AI, even if they’re her best friends. The only problem is: the teachers are also using the app to grade the homework.

What do you do when misinformation is spreading at a faster rate than anyone can keep up with and the AI is developing a mind of its own?

Commissioned by Paramount Theatre, written by Gabe Ruiz, and music and lyrics by J Godwin, and Satya Chávez, Brighter Futures, is a contemporary pop/electronic TYA musical, exploring the exponential growth of AI, its impact on students, and the importance of building community.
